My Insight on President Elpidio Quirino

Image
President Elpidio Quirino was born on November 16, 1890, in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines. He grew up in a simple family and loved learning from a young age. He studied at the University of the Philippines and later went to the United States to learn more about law. After finishing his studies, he became a lawyer and started helping people in his community. His early life taught him to be strong and care about others, which helped him in his future jobs. I think his start in life shows how hard work can lead to big things, even if you come from a small town. Quirino's career began when he got involved in politics. He was part of the Philippine Constitutional Convention in 1934, where he helped write the country's new rules. During World War II, he joined the resistance against the Japanese invaders and even hid in the mountains to fight for freedom. After the war, he became Vice President under President Manuel Roxas. When Roxas died in 1948, Quirino took over as President. ...

My Insight on the 2025 National Children's Month Celebration

Image
The theme for the 2025 National Children's Month is “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!” This means we need to stop online sexual abuse and exploitation of children, or OSAEC, and also stop child sexual abuse or exploitation materials, which is CSAEM. The big idea is to fight for the safety and rights of kids everywhere. I think this theme is very important because it reminds us that children should be safe from bad things online and in real life. Many kids face dangers like being tricked or hurt by strangers on the internet, and this celebration helps raise awareness so we can protect them. The government has many ways to protect children's safety, dignity, and rights. For example, they make laws like the Anti-Child Abuse Law to punish people who hurt kids. They also have programs through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to help families and schools teach kids about staying safe. Online, the government works with groups to b...

2nd Quarter Reflection

Image
https://thesportsschool.com/sports-and-academics/ In the second quarter, I learned a lot about archery and myself. I discovered that staying focused is key to hitting the target, even when I'm tired. I also found out how to manage my time better, like setting aside hours for practice and study. This helped me see that sports can teach life skills, such as patience and hard work. I feel stronger now because I didn't quit, and I improved my aim by practicing every day. https://thetowerpulse.net/41335/sports/how-much-is-too-much-when-balancing-sports-and-academics/ The biggest problems I faced were balancing school and archery. I had lots of homework and tests, which made me feel stressed and tired. Sometimes, I missed archery practice or did poorly in games because I was too worn out. I almost gave up because it felt like I couldn't do both well, and my grades started to slip a little. https://www.howtolearn.com/2013/09/how-to-optimize-your-study-time/ To fix these challenges...

My Thoughts on the 2025 Teacher's Month Celebration

Image
https://wishes1234.com/happy-teachers-day/ Teacher’s Month in 2025 has the theme “My Teacher, My Hero.” This is a special time every year to honor teachers for all they do. It happens in October in the Philippines, where I live. Schools have events like parades, speeches, and fun activities to show thanks. The theme means teachers are like heroes because they help us learn and grow. They face challenges every day, like teaching big classes or dealing with tough students, but they keep going. I think this celebration reminds us to be grateful for the people who shape our future. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/504684702012534948/ Teachers work really hard to mold our futures. They teach us math, science, history, and more. They also teach us good values, like honesty and kindness. Without them, we might not know how to solve problems or work with others. Their dedication means they stay late to help students who need extra time. Sometimes, they even use their own money for school supplie...

My Thoughts on the 2025 National Science Month Celebration

Image
https://www.facebook.com/share/p/17GLBWrMxd/ The 2025 National Science Month Celebration has a cool theme called "Harnessing the Unknown: Powering the Future through Science and Innovation." This means we are celebrating how science helps us explore things we don't know yet and use them to make the future better. I think it's exciting because science is all about discovering new ideas and inventions that can change our lives. For example, things like robots, new medicines, or ways to clean the environment come from scientists working hard. This celebration probably includes fun events like fairs, talks, and experiments to get kids and adults interested in science. https://in.pinterest.com/pin/715227984560292011/ Science and innovation are key to powering the future. By harnessing the unknown, we can solve big problems like climate change or finding clean energy. Imagine using science to create cars that run on sunlight or phones that help doctors save lives faster. I...

Climate Change and Resiliency

Image
Climate change remains the predominant driver of sudden and progressive environmental changes adversely affecting many Filipinos' lives. The Philippines, situated along the Pacific typhoon belt, is highly vulnerable to increasingly intense and frequent typhoons, flooding, and extreme rainfall, all disrupting communities, displacing families, and destroying infrastructure. Events like Typhoon Haiyan (2013) exemplify the catastrophic impact on lives, homes, and livelihoods, with many Filipinos facing prolonged recovery times due to weak disaster preparedness and socio-economic vulnerabilities.  Progressive changes, such as rising sea levels, pose an ongoing threat to coastal communities. The sea level near the Philippines is rising at a rate triple the global average, threatening around 60% of local government units, more than 13 million people, and vast coastal lands. This leads to increased flooding, coastal erosion, saltwater intrusion into freshwater supplies, and forced migratio...
