My Insight on the 2025 National Children's Month Celebration

The theme for the 2025 National Children's Month is “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!” This means we need to stop online sexual abuse and exploitation of children, or OSAEC, and also stop child sexual abuse or exploitation materials, which is CSAEM. The big idea is to fight for the safety and rights of kids everywhere. I think this theme is very important because it reminds us that children should be safe from bad things online and in real life. Many kids face dangers like being tricked or hurt by strangers on the internet, and this celebration helps raise awareness so we can protect them.

The government has many ways to protect children's safety, dignity, and rights. For example, they make laws like the Anti-Child Abuse Law to punish people who hurt kids. They also have programs through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to help families and schools teach kids about staying safe. Online, the government works with groups to block bad websites and report abusers. I believe these steps are good, but they need more people to join in, like parents and teachers, to make sure every child feels respected and safe.

In my view, the government should do even more to protect kids. They could add more training in schools about online dangers and make sure police are quick to help when something bad happens. Also, giving free internet safety classes to parents would help a lot. I think if everyone works together, we can really end OSAEC and CSAEM. This way, children can grow up without fear and enjoy their rights to play, learn, and be happy.
